Fortress Geomatics
Milton Lemke is the President of Fortress Geomatics. He has nearly 25 years of executive level management experience in the Geomatics Industry sector. Along with providing executive oversight, Milt continues to manage projects, and rolls up his sleeves to personally undertake both field and office production related activities on any project needing expert attention.
Milt has worked in the geomatics industry for 31 years, and has strengths in client liaison, project management, staff productivity, technology innovation, and quality control. He has worked on a wide variety of geomatics projects involving technology integration, GIS, DEM, GNSS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, orthophotography, satellite imagery, Automated Vehicle Logistics, 3D products, and mapping.
He maintains a strong focus on quality control, successfully manages multiple complex projects, and has delivered geomatics projects to clients in a variety of business areas, including aviation, defense, security, oil and gas, forestry, electric power transmission, automated vehicle locating and tracking, environmental monitoring, and land claim mapping.
Mr. Lemke graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography (GIS and Remote Sensing) from the University of Alberta in 1989.
Devon Biermann-Bosch, P.Tech. (Eng), Project Manager
Fortress Geomatics
Devon has more than 15 years’ experience in 3D Laser Scanning and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) project execution in both field and office settings, and has extensive experience providing Geomatics Engineering Solutions on both Brownfield an Greenfield Projects.
Devon has extensive experience in Field Engineering and Operations Management using a wide variety of industry leading equipment and applications relating to Laser Scanning, Mobile Scanning, Bathymetrics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Fixed Wing and Rotor), GPS/VRS/TS Networks, Line Locating w/ RFID Tagging, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). He is experienced in various Data Processing programs, and is a beta tester for various software and hardware platforms. He continues to collaborate with vendors and has a solid grasp of new technology even before it is released.
Devon obtained an Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma from Lethbridge College, earned a Certified Engineering Technologist (ASET) designation in 2010 and became a Professional Technologist in Engineering (ASET), 2013. He has participated on the ASET / APEGA P.Tech. (Eng) Review Board and is a C.E.T P.Tech (Eng) Subject Matter Expert.
Jesse Vanneste, P. Eng., Technical Lead
Fortress Geomatics
Jesse’s 10+ years in the geomatics engineering and surveying industry give him a unique perspective on how spatial information drives everything we do. Having worked in multiple roles in the industry including significant time in both the field and office has given Jesse expert knowledge of geomatics principles and technology. As a Technical Lead, Jesse oversees the technical aspect of Fortress Geomatics’ work, including trips to the field and direct involvement on project execution.
Jesse has worked on nearly every type of geomatics project, from construction and legal surveying through photogrammetry, laser scanning, and modelling. He believes that close and early integration of engineering and construction disciplines through spatial data improves project efficiency at all stages and is a critical aspect of the engineering process for any type of project.
Jesse graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2015 and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He is also a member (articled pupil) of the Alberta Land Surveyor’s Association, working towards his commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS).
